Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Benefits and Compensation Specialist to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing group benefits consulting support to our clients.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in group benefits and a strong understanding of Canadian benefits industry requirements. You will be responsible for designing and managing group medical, dental, life, disability, and special risk benefits for clients. This includes performing annual renewal analysis, negotiating with carriers, and preparing client reports and presentations.

You will also be responsible for reviewing financial statements for accuracy, gathering data to determine cost impact for plan design changes, and conducting market research. Additionally, you will support the consulting team in preparing documents for client presentations and meetings.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in group benefits
  • Knowledge of Canadian benefits industry and group benefits financial underwriting requirements
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Able to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively
