Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Executive Director of Food and Beverage Operations to lead the Arc restaurant and In Room Dining outlets at the Fairmont Waterfront. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the success of the hotel's venues by overseeing day-to-day operations, developing training programs, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with a proven track record in driving revenue, upholding Forbes and LQA standards, and fostering a luxury service culture. As Executive Director, you will oversee team leadership and development, revenue generation, Forbes and Leading Quality Assurance Standards, and Sustainability, Health, and Safety Compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership and Development: Work in partnership with the ARC Restaurant Chef to execute flawless operations. Recruit, train, and mentor staff, ensuring a positive and motivating work environment that fosters a guest-centric mindset.
  2. Revenue Generation: Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive revenue and maximize profitability while collaborating with the marketing team to create promotions and social events.
  3. Forbes and Leading Quality Assurance Standards: Uphold the highest standards of excellence as set by Forbes and LQA.
  4. Sustainability, Health, and Safety Compliance: Actively participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program, Food Safety Committee, and determine department-specific action items. Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both guests and staff.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior management role within a luxury restaurant or hotel setting.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proven track record in driving revenue and achieving financial targets.
  • Strong understanding of Forbes and LQA standards and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards in all aspects of the restaurant's operation.
  • Ability to effectively work with programs including Microsoft Office, OpenTable, Opera, and Silverware.
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of the local culinary scene and trends.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
