At the University of British Columbia, we are seeking an accomplished Academic Leadership Director to spearhead our business school's academic endeavors. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in educational leadership and a deep understanding of academic policies.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing registration policies in consultation with faculty officials. They will also oversee and direct academic activities, ensuring that they align with the university's vision and strategic goals. Additionally, they will evaluate academic activities, vocational programs presented to students, and plan and organize academic events.

The ideal candidate will have earned a doctorate degree or possess equivalent experience in education. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty members, students, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement registration policies in collaboration with faculty officials.
  • Oversight and direction of academic activities, ensuring alignment with university goals.
  • Evaluation of academic activities and vocational programs presented to students.
  • Planning and organization of academic events.
  • Curation of curriculum for training programs.
  • Development and administration of budgets for projects, programs, support services, and equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range is $120,000 - $150,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience. The position offers a permanent employment contract with 40 hours of work per week. The language of work is English.
