About the Role:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Instructional Support Administrator to provide administrative support for the teaching of Computer Science, particularly for first- and second-year Computer Science courses and labs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the teaching of Computer Science courses and labs
  • Respond to enquiries and redirect as appropriate
  • Disseminate program and/or service information
  • Coordinate the submission process of student grades/marks
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Edit program and service materials
  • Collate and organize materials
  • Coordinate meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate space and resource requirements

Requirements:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and recent and relevant experience
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience providing administrative support for an academic program in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience providing support to University faculty, TAs, and staff in the coordination of large undergraduate courses
  • Demonstrated experience proofreading and formatting lecture notes, problem sets, tests and exams
  • Demonstrated experience working with student and enrolment information and generating reports
  • Experience working with and providing information to undergraduate students
  • Experience organizing and planning meetings/events
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of clients
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage and meet multiple competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Access
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member

Assets:

  • Skills in Linux command line, version control, scripting, HTML and web forms, and data integration
  • Experience in ROSI or similar student information systems
  • Thorough understanding of the operations and workflow of a computer science lab
