About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at National Bank. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and interpreting diverse information to assess the insurability of clients applying for loan insurance and individual insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess complex files, including post-issue underwriting, and make informed decisions based on established standards and processes.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple files simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and senior advisors, providing clear and concise information and decisions.
  • Support less experienced colleagues through coaching and knowledge transfer, promoting a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing process changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team of 7 colleagues, working closely with the underwriter's manager to achieve shared goals and objectives. Our team is known for its expertise in underwriting, medical and insurance knowledge, and commitment to workplace well-being.

Requirements
  • College diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years in underwriting, with ALU exams 1 and 2 or 7 years in underwriting.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
