As a Senior Bilingual Underwriting Assistant, you will be an integral part of our Underwriting Support Unit, working closely with underwriters to process new and renewal business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with underwriters to process new and renewal business, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Evaluate new and renewal submissions, identifying potential risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Work closely with Service Center and Center of Excellence partners to develop and deliver tailored solutions to meet client needs.
  • Identify and resolve account alerts and blocks, ensuring seamless processing and minimizing potential conflicts.
  • Perform data analytics and referral documentation preparation, ensuring accurate and complete information.
  • Analyze loss information and financial statements to facilitate quote development, providing valuable insights to underwriters.
  • Assist with issuing quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and cancellations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Request individual policy filings as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare policy writing instructions for Shared Services and premium billings, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Prepare documents for reinsurance quotes for underwriting, providing valuable insights to underwriters.
  • Complete post-issuance policy review, documenting all discrepancies for review and ensuring accurate and complete information.
  • Assist underwriters with broker follow-ups on outstanding subjectivities, including Legal Agreements, Collateral, and Premium.
  • Track premium booking and policy issuance, ensuring LOB metrics are met and providing valuable insights to underwriters.
  • Attend broker or client meetings as requested by underwriting, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Consistently meet service level agreements and volume, accuracy, and quality metrics, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written) is essential, as a significant portion of the daily tasks handled by the employee will be based in provinces other than Quebec, the United States, and various other countries.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related insurance experience and/or training, or equivalent, a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess analytical and critical thinking skills, decision-making based on level of authority, and problem-solving.
  • Effective in a dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, working at pace and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to navigate various computer-based systems.
  • Microsoft Office – proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
