Family Support Worker

About the Role
Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing fair, equitable, and culturally relevant services to First Nations children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides support to families and children through home visits, community outreach, and case management.
- Maintains effective relationships with First Nations Councils, elders, committees, and applicable agencies.
- Participates in community-based initiatives to promote the well-being of First Nations children and families.
- Develops and implements individualized plans to address the needs of clients.
- Collaborates with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support to clients.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of client information.
- Participates in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field (social work, child and youth work, etc.) and 1-2 years of related experience in social work.
- Must produce a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- The ability to speak a native language is considered an asset.
- Excellent planning, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external contacts.
- Proficiency with various software packages, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and individual, family, child, adolescent, and group behavior.
- Experience in counselling, case management, file maintenance, and statistical reporting.
- Ability to work independently and provide on-call services when required.
