Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Join Sycamore Lane Elementary as an Educational Program Assistant and contribute to the success of our students. As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism, in a 10-month school year position. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement individualized plans, provide behavioral support, and assist with daily living skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism
  • Implement individualized plans and provide behavioral support
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as toileting and personal care
  • Use assistive technology to support student learning
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Light lifting (up to 20 pounds)
  • Medium lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology
  • Experience working with autism an asset
