The successful candidate will join a team that strives to be a beacon of hope in times of need. Reporting to the Manager, Claims & Facilities, the Claims Adjuster will be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling personal lines, auto, farm, liability, commercial, and injury claims in accordance with company policies and procedures within an assigned geographic territory.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Investigate claims, establish adequate reserves, negotiate, and settle all claims in a satisfactory and equitable manner. Interpret and communicate policy terms to insureds, claimants, and solicitors. Report claims information to senior claims personnel and/or VP, Claims for claims exceeding prescribed authority limits.
  • Perform standard office duties, prepare, and submit reports (e.g., caption reports, detailed assessments).
  • Represent the company at local and industry functions, maintaining satisfactory public relations with industry and community contacts.
  • Inspect risks for underwriting information or loss prevention purposes, submitting recommendations as necessary.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum five (5) years of experience in the industry and active involvement in completing CIP courses, demonstrated by completing two Institute courses per year.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to note details, make accurate observations, and sound decisions.
  • Strong interviewing and negotiating skills are essential.
