Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our rehabilitation services, you will provide essential support to clients in their daily lives, promoting independence and well-being.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 education and completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program, along with one year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certificates in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe are also required, as well as a valid Class 5 driver's license. A Class 4 (unrestricted) drivers license is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to carry out duties that require physical stamina, such as lifting and bending.
  • Independence and teamwork skills to collaborate with others in achieving common goals.
  • Proficiency in operating equipment relevant to the role.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to manage tasks and responsibilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining rapport with clients, observing changes, and providing instruction when needed.
  • Knowledge of arts and crafts, handicrafts, sports activities, and psychosocial rehabilitation principles.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, extended health benefits, and paid time off.
