About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide support and care to patients in various settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and transfers.
- Support patients with their rehabilitation goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and training on skills such as CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Diploma or certificate in Rehabilitation Assistance or related field.
- Grade 12 plus completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Certificates in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required; valid Class 4 (unrestricted) drivers license preferred.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Operate related equipment, including assistive devices and communication tools.
The salary range for this position is approximately $58,000 - $68,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
