About the Role

The Calgary Airport Authority is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Coordinator, Corporate Safety to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring a safe working environment at both YYC Calgary International Airport and YBW Springbank Airport.

As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for conducting regular safety inspections, maintaining comprehensive safety records, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enforce safety protocols.

About You

We are looking for an individual with strong knowledge of Canadian construction safety regulations, codes, and practices. Your experience as a Safety Inspector in a similar environment will enable you to identify potential hazards, non-compliance with safety regulations, and unsafe practices.

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety-related information to diverse audiences. Additionally, you should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections at construction sites and work areas to identify potential hazards, non-compliance with safety regulations, and unsafe practices.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of safety inspections, training sessions, and safety-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and workers to establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures in alignment with industry standards and applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in safety or environmental studies, or similar.
  • 1+ years' experience as a Safety Inspector in a similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian construction safety regulations, codes, and practices.
  • Proficiency in utilizing safety software and tools commonly used for inspections, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
