Job Overview:

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director, Pharmacy Operations Manager to lead the operations of 56+ pharmacies in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario. As a key member of our pharmacy leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth and Financial Management:
    • Develop and execute business strategies to drive sales growth and improve profitability.
    • Manage full P&L accountability for pharmacies within Loblaw Companies Limited Grocery supermarkets in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario.
    • Investigate, understand, review, and identify critical P&L components such as labor, inventory, growth opportunities, etc.
  • Culture and Colleagues:
    • Lead with our culture principles: Be Authentic, Build Trust, Make Connections, and our values: Care, Ownership, Respect, Excellence.
    • Build and implement recruitment strategy and engagement/retention plans, in partnership with Human Resources.
    • Continuous talent development of Pharmacy Directors as it relates to the multifaceted pharmacy market and leadership.
  • Enablement and Operational Excellence:
    • Monitor and review weekly sales projections, labor and workflow, shrink, and inventory, training, professional services, quality assurance, promotional programs, store presentation, and project rollouts with Directors.
    • Consistent communication with Directors to keep them updated on the implementation of programs and initiatives, accountabilities, and provincial pharmacy regulatory changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Regular dialogue with the enterprise pharmacy team and Ops VP, relative to upcoming promotions, staffing, service, and store-specific commitments.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with District Managers and Vice Presidents of respective grocery banners to ensure appropriate knowledge and partnership and business insight.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive, management-related experience.
  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy; or equivalent.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Excellent eye for business.
  • Understanding of retail pharmacy processes.
  • Proven track record to lead ground-breaking change efforts.
  • Proven understanding of Pharmacy Landscape and Retail Industry.
  • Strong existing/collaborative relationships with regulatory and advocacy partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills; ability to empower a team.
  • Demonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve results.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, coaching, and mentoring skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideally the incumbent will reside in Winnipeg, MB.
  • Regular travel is required, often requiring overnight stays.
