Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

WRHA Corporate is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Emergency Department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department, utilizing their expertise in health assessment, diagnostics, pharmacotherapeutics, and invasive and minor surgical procedures. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department, including health assessment, diagnostics, pharmacotherapeutics, and invasive and minor surgical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of nursing practice.
  • Develop and implement care plans that address the unique needs of patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in emergency nursing and advanced practice nursing.
Requirements:
  • Master's of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Stream or equivalent educational preparation as approved by College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.
  • Active registration on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the CRNM required.
  • 3 years acute care experience, Emergency Department preferred.
  • 1 year Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
  • Competency in managing technology in healthcare systems.
  • Ability to perform independently, take initiative, and as a member of the healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, requiring strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They will be expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
