We're looking for an experienced Patent Agent to join our Ottawa team, focusing on patent drafting, filing, and prosecution. If you're a qualified Canadian Patent Agent with a passion for intellectual property, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patentable inventions are recognized and protected.
  • Advise clients on securing appropriate IP protection and prepare and file patent applications.
  • Conduct IP audits and due diligence for investors in intellectual property and businesses with IP assets.
  • Arrange validity and infringement reviews and patent watch services.
  • Prosecute patent applications through to grant.
  • Draft arguments to advocate clients' positions, with reference to case law.
Requirements
  • Qualified Canadian Patent Agent with at least two years' post-qualification experience.
  • Recognized degree in science, chemistry, biochemistry, and/or biology.
  • Patent drafting, filing, and prosecution expertise.
  • Demonstrable technical excellence.
  • Ability to assume responsibility for client relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated; proactive with a drive to develop the practice.
  • Excellent time and portfolio management skills.
