About the Role

The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our team at the Ulkatcho Nursing Station. As a Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities
  • Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement health programs and services to meet the needs of the community
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in on-call care and provide after-hours services as needed
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Must be or working towards Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care
