Director of Research and Development Opportunity

Join the First Nations University of Canada as the Director of Research and Development for the National Indigenous Economic Prosperity Institute. This exciting opportunity will see you lead the development and implementation of comprehensive research plans aligned with the National Indigenous Economic Strategy's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute research plans that drive economic growth and prosperity for Indigenous Peoples.
  2. Lead a team of researchers in the development of research methodologies, data collection strategies, and analysis frameworks.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key research areas and prioritize projects accordingly.
  4. Manage the research budget and ensure effective resource allocation.
  5. Direct and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  6. Oversee the production of high-quality research reports, papers, and presentations that effectively communicate findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Ensure research is of the highest standards, follows OCAP (where applicable), Indigenous Research Ethics Boards (where applicable), is data-driven, and provides actionable recommendations.
  8. Present research findings to the President, the National Indigenous Advisory Committee, executive leadership, providing strategic recommendations and insights that advance Indigenous business development and growth and the National Indigenous Economic Strategy.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
