Optical Process Development Engineer for High-Precision Products

Lumentum Canada, a leading employer in the telecom industry, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Development Engineer/Scientist to join its team. As a valued member of the Ottawa Telecom Transport Business Unit, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-volume manufacturing processes for optical products.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for assembling high-precision optical products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize process efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness
- Analyze tool and process data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within the company. The successful candidate will have a strong educational background in materials science, physics, engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in assembly processes and equipment setup.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science, Robotic Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other relevant engineering or physical science discipline
- Proven experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with optoelectronic development from conceptual design to NPI/volume production
- Experience with Python programming and CAD software (SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
