About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Optical Technician to join our team at BMV Optical Technologies Inc. As an Optical Technician, you will be responsible for operating ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments, setting up and dismantling equipment, organizing and maintaining inventory, making minor adjustments and repairs, cutting and edging lenses, and fitting lenses into frames.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Ophthalmic Instruments: Use advanced equipment to conduct accurate measurements and tests.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up and dismantle equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of lenses, frames, and other optical materials.
  • Lens Preparation: Cut and edge lenses according to specifications, and fit them into frames.
  • Repair and Adjustment: Make minor adjustments and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optical laboratory setting.
  • Skills: Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
