Dental Services Coordinator

A dental care professional is needed to provide weekly services at a local detention facility in Ottawa, ON. This part-time position involves providing regular dental services, including extractions, root canals, and fillings, as well as pain management relief and responding to dental injuries from trauma and chronic health concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- To deliver primary dental care, including x-rays and health promotions, to inmates.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of dental care services, including coordination of care provided by dental specialists to ensure continuity and integration of care.
- To document all dental care in the dental records folder in compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards of practice, including dental assessments, treatment, and consultations.
- This role will involve providing urgent dental services, diagnosing and treating acute dental conditions and/or injuries, ensuring pain secondary to dental problems is assessed and managed appropriately, treating and preventing patient's infection due to dental problems, and addressing any dental problem which makes it impracticable for a patient to masticate.
- Holds a certificate of registration issued by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO)
- Minimum of three years experience providing dental services
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience;
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable sector check and a OPP Security Screening Level 3
- Experience working with people with addictions;
- Experience working with people experiencing mental health issues;
- Experience with urgent/acute dental care; and
- Experience in providing dental care for marginalized and diverse populations,
including those who have experienced trauma.
This part-time position offers an estimated annual salary of $90,000 - $120,000 based on location and industry standards.
