Human Resources Coordinator

The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals.
About the JobThis is a permanent, full-time position with an estimated salary of $80,000 per year. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 5 years or more of experience in human resources.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Assigning projects to subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
- Coordinating the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals
- Directing and controlling daily operations
- Directing staff
- Evaluating daily operations
- Planning and organizing daily operations
- Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating human resources policies and programs
- Reviewing HR projects to assure compliance with laws and regulations
- Training staff
- Advising managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
- Establishing and implementing policies and procedures
- Mediating labour disputes and grievances
- Planning, developing and implementing recruitment strategies
- Administering benefit employment equity and other human resources programs
- Managing training and development strategies
- Researching employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommending changes
- Overseeing the development of communication strategies
- Overseeing the preparation of reports
- Responding to employee questions and complaints
- Hiring, training and supervising staff
- Liaising with management, union officials and HR consultants
- Providing customer service
- Recruiting and hiring staff
- Conducting performance reviews
- Proposing improvements to methods, systems and procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree
- 5 years or more of experience in human resources
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to work independently
- Judgement and organized
- Team player with client focus and efficient interpersonal skills
- Reliability and accountability
