Opportunity Summary
As the Human Resources Assistant, you will be responsible for HR Engagement initiatives and programs, participating in an effective hiring and on-boarding process for new employees. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating HR initiatives and programs, including employee surveys and executive presentations.
- Drafting project assignment letters and ensuring full handover is complete.
- Conducting check-ins and coffee chats with HR program participants.
- Tracking participation and measuring success through Key Performance Indicators.
- Administering programs, collecting nominations, and promoting activities.
- Maintaining the new hire welcome session schedule and coordinating calendar invites.
- Scheduling and coordinating orientations for new hires and various events.
- Delivering employee orientations and benefit overviews.
- Preparing new employee orientation packages and sending post-onboarding communication.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary school education with a focus in Human Resource Management.
- Experience in supporting a department in an administrative role.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
