Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual customer service representative to join our team at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, resolving their inquiries and complaints, and assessing risks for automobile and property policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and written requests from members, processing changes directly into our computer system and applying proper underwriting standards.
  • Resolve product and service problems by clarifying member complaints, determining the cause, selecting the best solution, and explaining it to the member.
  • Attract potential members by answering questions and providing information about our products and services, obtaining ex-dates, and meeting or surpassing ex-date objectives to increase sales potential.
  • Process rewrites and remarkets following established new-business guidelines.
  • File and document records of insurance transactions and maintain and update current rate manuals for all markets, as received.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log and diary system, reviewing and flagging contentious issues for discussion with management.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate in French is required.
  • RIBO license is required; candidates without a RIBO license will be enrolled in the RIBO training course and required to obtain their license within the first three months of employment.
  • Completion of or commitment to complete the following three insurance courses: CIP Principles and Practice, Property 1, and Automobile.
  • Experience in personal lines automobile and property insurance is an asset.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
