Affinity is redefining how professionals manage and leverage their networks, transforming relationships into meaningful opportunities. As the VP of Engineering, you will play a crucial role in shaping our innovative CRM product and platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of our CRM product and platform, ensuring quality software and a delightful user experience.
  • Collaborate with product and design leaders to establish a compelling future vision for our product, crafting a strategic roadmap that seamlessly integrates product, design, and engineering.
  • Grow and scale the team, shaping the team's composition, specifying hiring needs, and sourcing and onboarding engineers with diverse technical abilities and soft skills.
  • Develop a technical strategy and roadmap aligned with Affinity's business and product needs, focusing on delivering high-quality, great usability, fast performance across applications and APIs.
  • Manage technical debt, leading company-wide prioritization of improvements to code quality, systems, and engineering processes.
Requirements:
  • 13+ years of experience building scalable web applications with large volumes of data and rich visualizations.
  • ~8+ years in an engineering leadership role, at least at one point overseeing organizations of 60 or more, with experience in managing multiple teams through managers and team leads.
  • ~ Experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders, such as Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, and Staff Engineers.
  • Experience recruiting and closing engineering candidates.
  • Passion for designing, evolving, and optimizing the development process, ideally leveraging practices such as Kanban to help developers maintain a seamless workflow.
  • Balance thoughtfully between short-term business priorities and long-term investment and strategy.
  • Take pride in delivering an exceptionally high-quality product, ensuring outstanding functionality, while maintaining the platform's overall performance and reliability.
  • Experience working with Ruby, React, or PostgreSQL.
