Job Description:

As a key member of our Southside Market team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. This role involves clearing and cleaning tables, operating dishwashers, and maintaining a clean kitchen area.

Responsibilities:
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for customers
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas to ensure efficient service
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand when necessary
  • Scour pots and pans to maintain their cleanliness and prevent any buildup of bacteria or other contaminants
  • Keep accurate records of food quantities used to inform inventory management decisions
  • Package take-out food in an attractive and appealing manner to meet customer expectations
  • Portion and wrap foods accurately and efficiently to minimize waste and ensure consistency in presentation
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items according to recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables with a smile and provide attentive service to meet their needs
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars regularly to ensure freshness and availability of products
  • Take customers' orders accurately and communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless service
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs as required
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Handle and store cleaning products safely and responsibly
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash regularly to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit according to recipes and presentation guidelines
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure to meet customer demands.
