About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Development Specialist to join our team in Montreal, Canada. As a key member of our Programs department, you will play a vital role in supporting community resilience, reconciliation, and climate change initiatives across Canada.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end administration of the funding process for our Communities focus area, including receiving, reviewing, and following up on funding applications. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with community partners, stakeholders, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating administrative tasks related to the funding process, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners, building trust, and fostering collaboration.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of community-focused programs, aligning with our organization's strategic objectives.
  • Providing exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Functional bilingualism with excellent oral and written skills in English or French.
  • 3-4 years of experience in program support and/or administration, preferably in a non-profit or community-led environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate with various stakeholders.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) frameworks and practices.
  • Availability and willingness to travel, both within Canada and internationally, as required.
