Tennis Operations Director

The Director of Tennis Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all key aspects of the tennis program and operations at our esteemed club. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervising the administrative and operational tasks of the tennis department.
- BUILDING and maintaining strong, professional relationships with club members.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for member inquiries in a confident and approachable manner.
- Maintaining availability to deliver world-class service to members.
- Coordinating the schedules of all tennis professionals and tennis desk staff.
- Leading a team of tennis department staff who embody the club's standards and values.
- Ensuring adherence to rules and regulations by tennis staff, members, and their guests.
- Enforcing policies and procedures regarding court bookings and court usage.
- Developing and overseeing a wide range of tennis programs to accommodate players at both recreational and competitive levels.
- Planning, promoting, and executing tennis events.
- Overseeing budgets related to the tennis department and monitoring financial performance.
- Maintaining accurate records regarding clinics and billing.
- Ensuring the tennis facility meets the standards of a top-tier club.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior management role.
- A degree in sports administration or sports management.
- A minimum of Coach 2 and/or Club Pro 2 certification, with Coach 3 and/or Club Pro 3 preferred but not necessary; the chosen candidate must obtain these certifications during their employment at the club.
- A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- A successful track record of developing tennis players and teams.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for leading a team and working cooperatively with others to achieve the club's goals.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current technology and trends.
- A strong connection within the tennis community, including knowledge of tennis leagues and the inter-county system.
- A strong understanding of har-tru tennis court maintenance and care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting to the General Manager/COO and will have direct reports in the tennis professionals, tennis desk staff, and tennis court maintenance staff. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes a range of benefits, including on-site parking, access to club amenities during quiet hours, a staff meal program, an employee assistance program, a group benefits program, and a pension program.
