Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to join our team at Fort St. James Secondary. As a Learning Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualized support to students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist teachers and other professionals in delivering regular or alternate programs to students with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
- Provide individualized support to students to help them reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with the school-based team to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
- Advocate for students and provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
- BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
- 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
