Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team at J. Sterling Industries. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our lean manufacturing initiatives, designing new equipment and processes, and ensuring the quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and modifying manufacturing documentation, including quality inspection sheets, BOMs, and working instructions.
- Provide consultation to design and process owners on design verification and validation protocols.
- Act as a liaison with 3rd party subcontractors to accelerate commercialization of our technologies.
- Provide technical expertise to facilitate participation in technical discussions and risk-based decision making.
- Identify and troubleshoot process equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend solutions.
- Assist in training production operators on machine operation, setup, safety, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for CNC machines and other equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of prototyping and new product development.
- Support Manufacturing Engineers in the definition and selection of new processes and equipment.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and boost productivity.
Requirements
- College Diploma or equivalent in Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing documentation creation and general office computer software.
- Ability to read and verify technical drawings.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
