Role Overview

CAE is seeking a skilled Hardware Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues related to our flight training devices and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware and software problems to ensure optimal performance of our flight training equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, responding to their needs in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required, including logistical support and data entry.
  • Work flexible hours, including shifts and field work, as needed.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as programming, software, IT, aviation, or electronics.
  • Strong understanding of computer and simulator architecture, including system components and relationships.
  • Ability to manipulate software to debug, troubleshoot, update, and compile code for use in a flight simulator application.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and knowledge of electronic testing equipment.
  • Ability to learn and apply skills in the flight simulator environment to maintain and operate all required equipment.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, particularly for technical information.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a dynamic technical team.
  • Experience in a flight simulator or aviation environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of simulator systems, international regulations for flight training devices, and the aviation/aerospace business is an asset.
