About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Portfolio Operations Manager to lead our team in delivering asset servicing, investment accounting, pricing, and portfolio control activities for publicly traded securities.

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, knowledge of public markets and securities, and the ability to drive change management initiatives. They will work closely with senior leaders to facilitate team-based decision-making processes and develop process changes that deliver greater value to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and reasonability of downstream data used in portfolio management, accounting, performance, risk, and compliance of publicly traded securities.
  • Oversee daily operations in accordance with key financial controls and operating controls, supporting teams in resolving complex issues impacting portfolio P&L, positioning, risk reporting, or financial reporting.
  • In partnership with stakeholders, develop, maintain, and implement process changes to deliver greater value to our stakeholders and the organization.
  • Recruit, conduct performance evaluations, mentor, and lead on-the-job training to recommend external training and conferences for staff.
  • Support project execution by researching requirements, analyzing alternative solutions, assessing operational risks and processes, and providing recommended courses of action.
  • Address operational implications of new strategies and improvements in execution impacting systems and reporting.
  • Measure and lead key relationships with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Tax, Legal, Financial Reporting, Prime Brokers/Custodians, FCMs, Counterparties, External Managers, and vendors using key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Provide adequate and timely responses to inquiries from partners.
  • Possess leadership skills to guide the efforts of the team to drive desired outcomes.
  • Sustain a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and across the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree.
  • Professional designation CPA CA, CGA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
  • Knowledge of public markets and securities.
  • Ability to be a key driver in identifying and implementing change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required for internal and external contacts.
  • Experience working with senior leadership in complex structures.
  • Significant experience (6-8 years) within Middle Office, Product Control, or Investment Operations, preferably including at least 2 years in a team leadership capacity.
