About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and recommend replacement of machinery as needed
  • Hire, supervise, and train employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques
  • Organize and maintain inventory levels to meet customer demands
  • Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems, and methods of work
  • Establish and manage departmental budgets to achieve financial objectives
  • Direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a focus on wood product manufacturing
  • Proven track record of managing large teams (over 20 people)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
