Toronto, Ontario, Canada Altavia Full time
About Altavia

We are a global marketing leader, helping brands reimagine commerce through a unique blend of creativity, technology, and strategy. With operations in 45 countries, we play locally and globally with a roster of clients that includes L'Oréal, Disney, Danone, Carrefour, and Mondelez, among many more.

We're experts at building bridges between big ideas and technology, and crafting omni-channel strategies that don't just accelerate commerce, but redefine it. It's all about fostering human connections, building sustainable partnerships, and creating meaningful experiences.

Why Work with Us

Working at Altavia means being part of a purpose-driven, innovative, and inclusive team. We empower our employees to lead with creativity, thrive in a dynamic environment, and contribute to a sustainable future of retail. With a flexible work structure, continuous learning opportunities, and a collaborative culture, we offer more than just a job—we offer a platform for growth and meaningful impact.

About this Role

We're looking for a driven, entrepreneurial, and tenacious VP New Business Development to lead our expansion efforts in Canada. In this role, you'll not only help extend our presence in the retail, CPG, and financial sectors, but also be a part of a movement transforming the way businesses connect with their customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft and execute a robust business development strategy to acquire new clients in FMCG, Banking, Insurance, and retail.
  • Drive client acquisition by keeping the pulse on market trends and industry shifts, gathering information on key customer segments and decision-makers to cultivate and secure a pipeline of highly relevant business opportunities.
  • Meet sales targets through a blend of lead generation, client presentations, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and values.
  • Collaborate with marketing, creative, and technical teams to co-create compelling proposals that deliver cutting-edge, omnichannel solutions to clients.
  • Build a robust sales pipeline, continuously tracking and converting opportunities while maintaining transparency and timeliness in deal closures.
  • Actively engage in cold outreach, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand Altavia's reach and connect with high-potential prospects.
What You Bring to the Table

We're looking for someone with:

  • 6-8 years of proven success in business development, preferably within retail, marketing, or related fields.
  • A strong grasp of the retail ecosystem, with established connections in industries such as retail, CPG, insurance, and banking.
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets, securing new business, and expertly negotiating complex deals.
  • The ability to think big and craft scalable growth strategies, understanding pricing strategies that build long-term partnerships and sustainable success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build trust and influence at all levels.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, capable of working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications in sales or business development are a plus).
  • Deep familiarity with the commercial and financial industries, particularly with medium to large-scale clients.
Why You'll Love Working Here

We offer:

  • A competitive salary and benefits package that rewards your hard work and success.
  • A results-driven incentive structure that motivates high performance.
  • Global opportunities to work with international teams and clients on innovative, high-impact projects that shape the future of retail.
  • A culture of inclusion, where diverse perspectives are valued, and everyone has a voice.
