Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our Fortinet team in Ottawa. As an IT Engineer, you will provide technical support for internal users, install and repair computer hardware and software, and resolve technical problems with networks and IP phone systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide assistance to internal users via email, phone, tickets, and in-person for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, networks, IP phones, software, and hardware.
  • Hardware and Software Installation: Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Network Configuration: Configure, encrypt, and troubleshoot Linux/Windows/MacOS desktops and laptops.
  • IP Phone Systems: Create phone extensions and configure IP phones.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless network, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and IP phone systems.
  • User Account Management: Manage user accounts and permissions in business systems.

Requirements

  • Education: A diploma or degree in Computer Systems, Information Technologies, Networking, or related fields.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VoIP, Exchange, Linux, MacOS, and Windows. Experience in Desktop/Laptop/Server hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Personal Qualities: Helpful and responsive while balancing issue priorities. Detail-oriented, high-energy individual who is able to multitask. Ability and willingness to learn.
