About This Role:

You will lead the programmatic division, focusing on departmental growth, client performance and retention, product innovation, team development, and accountability, as well as external and internal thought leadership. As Director of Programmatic, you will play a crucial role in elevating Directive into the top tier of performance marketing agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a comprehensive programmatic strategy that aligns with broader business objectives and client goals.
  2. Create programmatic methodologies that align with Directive's Customer Generation framework.
  3. Evaluate new opportunities for programmatic growth and innovation, staying ahead of industry trends.
  4. Oversight of campaign execution, optimization, and reporting to ensure maximum performance and ROI.
  5. Implement data-driven approaches to campaign analysis, utilizing advanced targeting, creative strategies, and optimization techniques.
  6. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of programmatic strategists, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  7. Provide ongoing training and development to enhance the team's expertise in programmatic buying and optimization.
  8. Serve as the programmatic expert in sales pitches and client meetings, articulating the value and strategy behind campaigns.
  9. Leverage various DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk, Google Display & Video 360) to drive campaign success, focusing on display, video, OTT/CTV, and audio.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (paid search, marketing ops, creative) to refine and enhance the programmatic product offering.
  11. Drive innovation of new products, formats, and targeting strategies to improve programmatic solutions for clients.
  12. Oversight of department budget, including staffing and resource requirements like capacity planning and maintaining healthy margins.

What You'll Bring:

  1. 5+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a performance marketing agency.
  2. A proven track record in developing and managing high-performance programmatic campaigns across the B2B tech/SaaS space.
  3. Deep knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, including DSPs, ad exchanges, data providers, and measurement platforms.
  4. Strong analytical skills, proficient in Excel/Sheets, Google Analytics, and other campaign analysis tools.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  7. Proactively cultivating innovation and disruption, effectively integrating new ideas into ongoing processes.
  8. Experience communicating as an executive sponsor of key accounts; exceptional customer service and communication with the C-Suite during critical moments.
  9. A dynamic performance-marketing mindset for B2B, a clear POV on what drives performance success and curiosity about future developments in the programmatic space for B2B SaaS and Tech organizations.

Work Environment Requirements:

This is a remote-first position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US, with the option to visit our Irvine, California office or other global locations. For some positions, we accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses. You must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role can operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate through virtual meetings and Slack. In this role, you will require a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, have reliable internet access, and maintain a professional background.
