About the Role

The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for performing visual work-ups, including history, medications, vision, corneal pachymetry, and autorefraction. You will also assist in preparing for clinics and help the administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual work-ups, including history, medications, vision, corneal pachymetry, and autorefraction
  • Assist in preparing for clinics
  • Help the administrative team

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of high school and an additional 1 year program in a general sciences program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • At least 1 year of practical and related experience
  • Experience working in a hospital environment is an asset
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable
  • Excellent communication skills with patients and other hospital team members
  • Ability to manage patient concerns
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn new software
