Public Health Nurse Coordinator

The Public Health Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of public health nurses, program orientation, and ongoing in-service training. This role also involves supporting designated CDC response staff and coordinating the prevention, planning, implementation, and evaluation of CDC programs. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills, with a specialized focus on implementing provincial standards related to CDC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise public health nurses and provide ongoing support and guidance
- Develop and implement program plans and evaluate their effectiveness
- Coordinate the prevention, planning, implementation, and evaluation of CDC programs
- Support designated CDC response staff and provide guidance on CDC protocols and procedures
Requirements:
- Three (3) years experience as a Public Health Nurse
- Experience in public health and implementation of The Public Health Act, 1994
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Course credits in community health and public health nursing are required

- Knowledge of agents, patterns, control issues & the epidemiology of disease
- Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development
- Knowledge of communicable disease control practices and procedures
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at various stages according to priorities
- Ability to meet multiple demands, manage complex clinical issues and workload
- Ability to work independently and as a leader of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate in a cross-cultural setting
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of research and statistical collection concepts
- Knowledge in community development
Other Information:
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Travel required
- Experience in communicable disease is considered an asset
