About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Nutrition and Food Services department, you will be responsible for the front-line supervision of employees, day-to-day operations, meal service and delivery, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas.

The successful candidate will act as an ambassador and liaison within the integrated model of Nutrition and Food Services and will be a resource and leader for employees in the area and remote sites. As part of the management team, you will assist in carrying out administrative and operational functions within designated area(s) and in accordance with NFS strategic plan.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nutrition and food service management, preferably with a post-secondary degree in nutrition or a related field. You will have a minimum of two years of experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations, preferably in a health care setting and unionized environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching skills, as well as demonstrated judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will also have strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to prioritize, organize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.

Hours

This is a casual relief position, and you will be required to work outside of a set schedule and beyond normal working hours as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $37.38 and will be eligible for a range of benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
