Job Summary

Thales is seeking a Technical Specialist to support the Royal Canadian Navy Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPV) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) class vessels managed by Thales under the AOPS & JSS In-Service Support (AJISS) contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical services and advice for designated system and equipment repair, operations, and maintenance activities within the Technical Specialist's area of expertise and authorization.
  • Support the AJISS Engineering Team with various activities such as development and implementation of Engineering Changes, creation of Deviations & Waivers, or surveys on board the ship while alongside.
  • Advise the Service Delivery team and Engineering team on matters relating to requirements for corrective maintenance, engineering changes, and verify planned maintenance changes related to C4ISR.
Requirements
  • Electronics or Networking Engineering Technician Diploma, with a minimum 5 years of experience in working in a high technology (networked), technical environment.
  • Experience with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various systems, including VHF/UHF/HF communications systems, Satellite Systems, Computer Networks, Telecom Systems, Radar Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, Navigation Systems, and Weapons Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Military QL6B Electronics or Networking Technician certification in an approved Military Trade.
  • Experience with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Radar Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, and Weapons Systems.
