About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our team in the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions. As a Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in providing guidance and specialized support services with a focus on modern Cloud and DevSecOps management practices. Your primary accountabilities will include working with other technology teams, monitoring and maintaining cloud services, resolving incidents and problems, and providing specialized technical support and service to clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
  1. Collaborating with technology teams to ensure effective and efficient availability, deployment, and maintenance of IT cloud and DevSecOps assets.
  2. Monitoring and maintaining cloud services to ensure high levels of service to our partners and clients.
  3. Resolving incidents and problems in a timely and effective manner.
  4. Providing specialized technical support and service to clients and partners.
  5. Supporting operational service and regular maintenance activities.
  6. Providing effective communications with partners and clients when needed.
  7. Participating in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
  8. Providing tier 2 support to Technical Analysts.

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus a minimum of three years of experience in cloud environments, 24/7 mission-critical environments, containerization, and DevSecOps. You will also have excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities.

Assets
The following skills and experience would be considered assets:
  1. Good understanding of cloud networking.
  2. Working knowledge of cloud WAFs and firewalls.
  3. Terraform skills.
  4. Understanding of Infrastructure as code.
  5. Understanding of git and GitLab.
  6. Working knowledge of Python and YAML.
  7. Knowledge of project management methodologies, ITIL processes, and IT Security policies.
