We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Water Quality and Aquatic Health Scientist to join our team in Western Canada. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for designing and implementing water quality, sediment quality, and aquatic effects monitoring programs for multiple sectors in BC and resource development projects throughout Western Canada and the North.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement water quality, sediment quality, and aquatic effects monitoring programs
- Coach and develop project teams responsible for program design, data collection, assessment, and reporting
- Provide leadership to project teams over the entire life cycle of a project
- Oversee quality assurance/quality control and ensure effective data collection and reporting
- Communicate scientific work to non-scientific audiences and support clients in regulatory and engagement efforts
- Prepare technical reports for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities
- Collaborate with other disciplines to complete deliverables
- Manage project timelines and budgets
- University education in environmental science, toxicology, or biological sciences, or a related field
- Professional Registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (College of Applied Biology of British Columbia) or eligible for professional registration
- 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience
- Leadership and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to apply knowledge of BC and CCME water quality guidelines
- Valid driver's license
