Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Women's Emergency Accommodation Centre (WEAC). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing primary care services to women in need.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a clinic and mobile setting, providing holistic care to women in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. You will be responsible for assessing and planning care, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan care for women, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including immunizations and vital signs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care, including referrals to specialists and community resources.
  • Provide education and support to women on health topics, including women's health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program, accredited through CLPNA.
  • Current registration with CLPNA.
  • Police Intervention Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Child Intervention Record Check.
  • CPR C for Healthcare Provider.
  • Immunization Certification.
  • Medication Certification.
  • Women's Health Certification (preferred).
Competencies:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of women's health and wellness, including reproductive health and mental health.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and community agencies.
