Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a challenging role in law enforcement? We have an exciting opportunity for a By-Law Parking Enforcement Student to join our team at Norfolk County.

About the Job

This is a 4-month contract position, approximately 35 hours per week, with the possibility of extending beyond the initial term. As a By-Law Parking Enforcement Student, you will be responsible for investigating and enforcing parking by-law infractions, conducting daily patrols, gathering evidence, and appearing in court as a witness when required.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a daily journal of activities, preparing routine reports, and performing administrative tasks such as ticket entry into a database and photocopying. Additionally, you may be asked to assist Municipal Law Enforcement Officers with other Bylaw duties as required.

Requirements
  • Be enrolled in a Police Foundation program, Law and Security program, or a similar law enforcement or legal field;
  • Hold a valid Class G Driver's License and have access to a reliable vehicle for commuting to and from work;
  • Have computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email, and the ability to attach documents;
  • Be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Have experience in the general operation of office equipment, such as photocopiers;
  • Possess excellent organization, time management, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and problem-solving abilities;
