Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our Satellite Health Facility team. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing care to patients with low acuity and alternate level of care needs.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and evaluate patient care
  • Provide nursing care according to the standards of practice for RPNs
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
  • Set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Current certificates or current Community College studies in asepsis, wound care, airway management, complex wound care, patient assessment, urinary catheterization, administering enteral feeds, Medication administration, transcribing orders
  • Documented completion of a recognized IV course that includes IV medication administration, venipuncture and blood and blood product administration
  • Demonstrated experience in working with an interdisciplinary team
