Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forecast Analyst - Renewable Energy to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and reliable forecasting services for energy traders, grid regulators, and plant operators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecasting Services: Develop and maintain forecasting models to provide high-quality forecasts for renewable energy sources.
  • Performance Reporting: Produce regular reports on forecast performance, highlighting areas for improvement and suggesting enhancements.
  • Customer Interface: Collaborate with customers to ensure their forecasting needs are met, providing expert advice and guidance as required.
  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest forecasting techniques and technologies, researching and implementing new methods to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Workshop and Meeting Support: Participate in workshops and meetings to discuss renewable energy forecasting, promoting our forecasting services and providing expert insights.
  • Commercial and Marketing Support: Assist with the commercial and marketing aspects of our business, helping to identify new opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years industry or academic experience in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using Python required, with experience with wind and/or solar energy, global weather patterns, C#, MATLAB, and/or SQL preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Effective time management skills, ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment, and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
