About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients, particularly those in the geriatric population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with various physical impairments, pain, and functional limitations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on physiotherapy techniques, pain management, and health promotion.
  • Supervise and evaluate physiotherapy students, assistants, and aides to ensure high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
  • Previous experience working with older adults, particularly those with dementia, responsive behaviors, and cognitive changes, is an asset.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
