The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team at IWK Health Centre. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for the physiotherapy management of neuromuscular care patients, providing assessment, intervention, and follow-up as indicated. You will work collaboratively with the child/youth and family, interdisciplinary team, and team leaders to provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physiotherapy management of neuromuscular care patients
  • Assess, intervene, and follow-up as indicated
  • Collaborate with the child/youth and family, interdisciplinary team, and team leaders
  • Participate in professional development of services through care team meetings, working groups, and subcommittees
  • Participate in education of patients and families, Health Centre staff, and affiliated students
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Canadian Physiotherapy Association (C.P.A.) approved physiotherapy program
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, to practice by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in rehabilitation, with a preference for pediatric neuromuscular rehabilitation
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months
