Physiotherapist - Med/Surg/Cancer Care, Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services

The Physiotherapist is a key member of the clinical team, working collaboratively with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a tertiary care setting, providing education and communication with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers. The Physiotherapist will also provide supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
The incumbent may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio. Physiotherapists work on weekends in many areas of the hospital.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university. The ideal candidate will have membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body) and computer skills (statistics input, word processing, and Microsoft Outlook). Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS) is also required. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
HoursThis is a long assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will work shifts over a 6-day per week schedule, including weekends and holidays. The position is approximately a 12-month assignment.
Compensation and IncentivesThe hourly rate for this position is $33.97 - $42.89. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
