About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Engagement Librarian to join our team at Prince George Public Library. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering programs that engage with children, youth, and families in our community.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach initiatives to reach under-served and historically marginalized populations
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS, including schools, civic agencies, non-profit organizations, and other anchor institutions
  • Collaborate with library staff to create and deliver engaging programs, events, and services that meet the needs of diverse communities
  • Provide expert reference, readers' advisory, referral, and basic customer account and circulation services to patrons
  • Assist with training and supervising support staff, as required
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a public library setting, preferably in community engagement or outreach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Familiarity with library software and hardware, including online databases and digital tools

Estimated Salary: $70,000-$85,000 per year
