Job Summary

FCC Construction is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of contract documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate estimates for electrical and instrumentation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, specifications, and drawings to identify project requirements and develop accurate estimates.
  • Develop material take-offs, labor take-offs, subcontract requirements, and equipment requirements for electrical and instrumentation projects.
  • Obtain necessary information from suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Prepare tenders by quantifying, organizing, and tabulating material, equipment, labor, and subcontract costs.
  • Work with Purchasing to obtain pricing on materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
  • Review estimates with Project Managers, Division Managers, and Site Supervisors to ensure agreement on labor, material, equipment, and subcontracting quantities and costs.
  • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, project closings, and meetings with Division Managers, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Purchasing Personnel.
  • Review tender closing documents and obtain signatures, bonding, and insurance certificates.
  • Follow up on submitted tenders with general contractors, clients, and owners to obtain bid results.
  • Participate in daily and weekly estimating reporting of closings, opportunities, and workload.
  • Meet monthly and yearly quotas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements

  • Educational background in Electrical or Instrumentation Trade, Technology Certificate, and/or Engineering Degree.
  • Familiarity with estimating software is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with BIM and Procore software is an asset.

Business Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer-focused environment.

Cultural Requirements

  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
